Simplicity Esports and Gaming Company is looking to purchase of a franchise in Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends. For this purpose, the company has submitted its primary application to Riot Games along with supporting documentation.
Simplicity Esports has one of the top teams in CBLoL Brazil with over 1.6 million social media followers plays under the brand of Flamengo Esports, a team which won the 2019 CBLoL Brazil Championship and competed against more than a dozen teams from multiple regions around the globe in games of the World Finals in Europe.
Simplicity Esports CEO Jed Kaplan said obtaining a League of Legends Franchise was one of the primary goals for Simplicity. The company filed application with Riot puts Simplicity Esports on the path to franchise ownership. A couple of years ago, I read in the Sports Business Journal that the League of Legends® World Finals had more viewers than the Super Bowl, and I knew that was where we needed to be.
